Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information OwnStuff ("we", "us") collects through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. OwnStuff is currently a pre-launch waitlist, so the information we collect is deliberately minimal.

Information we collect

When you join the waitlist, we collect the email address you provide. We do not require an account, a name, or any other personal details to join.

We use PostHog, a product analytics service hosted in the United States, to understand how people use this site. It records which pages and sections you view, what you click, how far you scroll, general device and browser details, and a recording of your visit (session replay) so we can see where the page works and where it doesn't. Anything you type into a form field is masked in these recordings.

To recognise a returning visit, PostHog stores an anonymous identifier in a first-party cookie and your browser's local storage. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use analytics to build advertising profiles.

Our hosting and infrastructure providers may log standard technical data (such as IP address and browser type) as part of operating the website, independent of anything we configure ourselves.

How we use your information

• To let you know when OwnStuff becomes available.
• After launch, to send you occasional updates about the product, which you can opt out of at any time.
• To understand interest in OwnStuff and how the site is used, so we can improve it.

We do not sell your information, ever.

How we share your information

We share waitlist email addresses only with service providers who help us operate the waitlist and send communications (for example, our email delivery provider), under obligations to protect it. Site usage data, as described above, is processed by PostHog on our behalf. We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Data retention

We keep your email address for as long as you remain on the waitlist, or until you ask us to remove it. Once OwnStuff launches, waitlist data is used to invite you to the product and is retained under the privacy terms of the product itself.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you at any time by contacting us using the details below. This includes asking us to delete the analytics data linked to your visits. You can also block analytics entirely with your browser's tracking protection or a content blocker. We will respond within a reasonable time.

Children's privacy

OwnStuff is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as OwnStuff evolves. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
